Kid Urockers play the great hits from Hendrix, The Who, Janis Joplin and more
Cincinnati, March 2, 2010:
Boot Camp Jamz, the Tri-State's UROCK (University of Rock) Music School and Summer Day Camp will present a "Tribute to Woodstock 1969" concert. To be held at 6 pm Friday March 19, 2010 at the Northside Tavern, 4163 Hamilton Ave Cincinnati, OH, this concert will be the best warm-up for this winters blues. Tickets are $3 at the door.
Special performances will be given by five UROCK bands Spearpoint, District 4, Canned Under Authority, 2 to 1 Ratio and True Kings Of. Each band will perform songs from the acts that appeared during the 4 day festival in August 1969. They include songs from Credence Clearwater, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Cocker, Janis Joplin, The Band, and Santana.
These Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati rockers, ages 11 to 17, are enrolled in the Boot Camp Jamz UROCK Music program at Willis Music Florence and Buddy Rogers Music Beechmont. They have been rehearsing since January for the March 19 Woodstock show.
The University of Rock (UROCK) is a rock band experience for young musicians ages 11-17 that rehearse weekly and are coached in performing rock standards, contemporary hits and writing and performing original songs. UROCK bands meet on Saturdays and selected weekday evenings. UROCK forms bands for 12-week quarters beginning April 3, 2010 at Buddy Rogers Music Beechmont location and Willis Music Florence Superstore.
UROCK bands have performed at the Cincinnati Zoo, the Cincinnati Museum Center, Jefferson Hall, the Northside Tavern and are regularly featured on Fox19.
